This project deals visually and sensorially with the impact of disease on patients and their environment. It presents a family of sensual glass objects which, through their materiality and shape, play with notions of balance/imbalance in relation to the human body. The objects allude to the way our bodies are affected by major physical changes such as weight, mobility, or physical awareness. When the body does not work as we are used to; when its seemingly balanced state with the mind is challenged: how does our perception of them, our expectations, and their roles shift? Balance is no steady state. It is a summary of fluid, changeable conditions.
